Arduino Robot Controller Shield — Game-Style Wireless Controller Add-On for Arduino
The Arduino Robot Controller Shield is a gamepad-style expansion board that lets your Arduino act as a wireless controller for remote-controlled robots. Designed to mimic classic gaming controllers, this shield features a two-axis joystick on the left and four main action buttons on the right, giving you intuitive control over your robot’s movements. Additionally, it includes two small momentary push buttons, two toggle switches, and a potentiometer to offer even more input options.
You can also extend the functionality by connecting an MPU6050 gyro sensor (GY521), enabling motion-based commands similar to console controllers.
Wireless Connectivity Options
This controller shield supports several wireless communication modules, and sample code for all compatible modules is provided:
- 433 MHz RF transmitter modules (such as RX-B6 or FS1000A)
- HC-05 Bluetooth module or paired HC-05 module
- NRF24L01 long-range RF communication module
You can even use this shield to play games on a computer when it’s attached to an Arduino Leonardo board.
